We worked with TEW to help us remodel our kitchen, living room, and dining area in our 1960s split level home in Raleigh. Rima and Frances met with us many times throughout the course of our project. They really listened to what we were looking for and incorporated all of our priorities into their design. Throughout the process Rima and her team were organized, communicative, and transparent. All of the contractors and sub-contractors that were chosen by TEW did fantastic work. We encountered a few unexpected structural issues once demo was complete but TEW walked us through our options and were very clear about how timeline and budget would be impacted in each scenario. We felt informed and supported throughout our decision-making and are absolutely thrilled with the end result!
My young family was new to the process of house renovations and approaching a full kitchen remodel with a toddler was daunting.u003cbru003eRima and her team were wonderful every step of the way. Stephanie created a stunning kitchen design that was truly customized to enhance our real life. She asked great questions and listened deeply to our answers, honoring the input in a way that always made us feel understood. They respected our budget and it never impacted the quality of the design. When unexpected twists occurred during construction so we had to source new material, the TEW team were eager to help problem solve and approached it as an exciting challenge rather than an inconvenience.u003cbru003eWhen I stand in my new kitchen, it feels like an expression of my heart. Not only did TEW design a space built for functionality, they created a kitchen that feels like a permanent home.u003cbru003eThe contractor we worked with was recommended by TEW and is another example of TEW’s commitment to excellence. We had a wonderful experience from beginning to end and trusted the relationship between the design and execution.
We worked with TEW in fall 2023 to update the house we recently purchased. We cannot recommend them enough. The entire team is brilliant and the design updates to our house went above and beyond what we had hoped for. They listened to our needs and preferences and made recommendations that incorporated our thoughts with innovative and creative design elements.
We worked with Tew to redesign our kitchen, and they were fantastic! They took our very rough vision for what we wanted and needed our kitchen to be for a growing family and turned it into something both visually stunning and wonderfully more functional. They were a pleasure to work with from the design phase, through helping us find a contractor, on to putting in the final touches once all the building and installing was completed.
The TEW team recently completed a major remodel of our primary bathroom and closet. They were very attentive to our inspiration photos, and blended their own design sense seamlessly with our likes in coming up with a design we couldn’t have imagined on our own. They coordinated with their network of contractors so we had peace of mind in who came in and out of our home during the course of the project.

For this bathroom reno, my clients wanted a space that reflected the fun personalities of their two girls. I reconfigured the vanity and made the bath and shower areas more FUN ctional, proof that bold, bright color can still feel classic and elevated.
I`m a neurodivergent designer, and that shapes every project I take on, not just the colorful ones. I build in visual order, clear zones, and sensory-friendly layouts as a baseline, because a space that feels calm and easy to navigate benefits every client, neurodivergent or not. This bathroom just happens to prove it can be joyful too.

In this piece, Rima explores how to "Clear the Clutter" and in it, she discusses something we live by as we design. Clutter isn`t a user issue, it`s a design flaw. It shows up in every home when it`s not designed thoughtfully.
You don`t need everything on display to feel functional. That`s the logic behind this kitchen: pull-out spice storage, a dedicated cutting board organizer, appliances tucked exactly where they`re used. Nothing about it feels stripped down or cold, it just works so you don`t have to think about it. Minimalism done right doesn`t feel like less, it feels like function and strategy. Evidence based design means we`re not guessing. A 15 year hospital study tracking over 80,000 patients found that patients near a window had shorter hospital stays than patients near the door. That`s the kind of science that backs every choice we make. Your home shouldn`t just be picture perfect, it should support how you actually want to live and feel every day.

We are honored to announce being a recipient for the 2026 Chrysalis Design Award for this multi-purpose mudroom and laundry space at our Bent Pine project, a space most homes treat as an afterthought.
This project started as a pantry, back entry, mudroom, and laundry room all crammed into one. We used custom built-ins to hide the daily clutter, one cohesive color palette, and a hidden pocket gate to keep the dogs in. We even tucked a wet bar into the back entry. Thinking about redoing your fireplace? Here`s how we approached this one. 🔥
We started by rethinking the shape and proportions. We wanted to move away from the dated, boxy look toward something sleek and modern that could act as a focal point for the whole living space. We used wood paneling with clean lines to create an architectural feature that reads as a design statement, not just a heat source.
Redoing a mantel and fireplace is one of the most common requests we get. It`s one of our favorite transformations to see because it can really impact the feel of the whole room. Swipe to see the process from concept to installation!
It`s the details that make a room feel finished. In this project, we layered custom ornate trim, wallpaper for pops of color and pattern, and curated shelf styling to bring every space together.

Before we design anything, we ask three questions. They`re rooted in human-centered design principles, not just style preferences.

2️⃣ Who uses it day to day?
3️⃣ What annoys you about it? What causes stress the second you walk in?
That third question is the one that guides us to make informed design decisions. The things that bother us in our homes are opportunities for growth. We design for real brains and real life.

We built this color palette layer by layer. Navy in the dining room, teal in the hallways, burnt orange in the office. Each space has a distinct personality, and with the sightlines between rooms, you can see the contrast without it feeling too loud. The whole home is connected by soft curves, and an elevated, serene feel, allowing the eye to move easily between spaces.
