We worked with TEW to help us remodel our kitchen, living room, and dining area in our 1960s split level home in Raleigh. Rima and Frances met with us many times throughout the course of our project. They really listened to what we were looking for and incorporated all of our priorities into their design. Throughout the process Rima and her team were organized, communicative, and transparent. All of the contractors and sub-contractors that were chosen by TEW did fantastic work. We encountered a few unexpected structural issues once demo was complete but TEW walked us through our options and were very clear about how timeline and budget would be impacted in each scenario. We felt informed and supported throughout our decision-making and are absolutely thrilled with the end result!
My young family was new to the process of house renovations and approaching a full kitchen remodel with a toddler was daunting.u003cbru003eRima and her team were wonderful every step of the way. Stephanie created a stunning kitchen design that was truly customized to enhance our real life. She asked great questions and listened deeply to our answers, honoring the input in a way that always made us feel understood. They respected our budget and it never impacted the quality of the design. When unexpected twists occurred during construction so we had to source new material, the TEW team were eager to help problem solve and approached it as an exciting challenge rather than an inconvenience.u003cbru003eWhen I stand in my new kitchen, it feels like an expression of my heart. We had a wonderful experience from beginning to end and trusted the relationship between the design and execution.
We worked with TEW in fall 2023 to update the house we recently purchased. We cannot recommend them enough. The entire team is brilliant and the design updates to our house went above and beyond what we had hoped for. They listened to our needs and preferences and made recommendations that incorporated our thoughts with innovative and creative design elements.
We worked with Tew to redesign our kitchen, and they were fantastic! They took our very rough vision for what we wanted and needed our kitchen to be for a growing family and turned it into something both visually stunning and wonderfully more functional. They were a pleasure to work with from the design phase, through helping us find a contractor, on to putting in the final touches once all the building and installing was completed.
The TEW team recently completed a major remodel of our primary bathroom and closet. They were very attentive to our inspiration photos, and blended their own design sense seamlessly with our likes in coming up with a design we couldn’t have imagined on our own. They coordinated with their network of contractors so we had peace of mind in who came in and out of our home during the course of the project.

Today we`re celebrating the woman who keeps our studio looking as good as it does! She also happens to be our founder`s mom, which honestly explains a lot about the eye for design running through our whole team.
Manal keeps our studio running smoothly and our retail space looking its best. Give her five minutes and she`ll spot exactly what a room needs, even if it`s just one small tweak that makes everything click. She has an eye for detail and helps run our receiving warehouse as well! She`s also our resident floral arranger and somehow keeps every plant in the office alive (a talent we do not take for granted).
We`re so lucky to have her eye and her energy in our corner every day. Happy birthday, Manal! 🎂✨
When a space has no natural light, the instinct is often to play it safe and keep things white, neutral, and safe. We did the opposite.
For a downtown Raleigh condo with little natural light in the kitchen and laundry, we went with navy cabinetry, rust ceramic tile, and warm brass hardware. And it’s the warmest, most alive the space has ever felt.
White without natural light doesn’t read bright and airy. It reads gray and flat. Deep color, paired with the right lighting and reflective finishes? That’s what gives a room somewhere to land.

There`s a persistent myth in our industry that accessible design has to look a certain way, and only belongs to certain clients.
We disagree.
In this Fayetteville Street kitchen, the palette of navy, rust, and warm brass wasn`t just an aesthetic choice. Visual contrast between surfaces helps the eye navigate a space quickly and read it at a glance. That`s as true for aging eyes and neurodivergent brains as it is for anyone who simply wants a kitchen that feels alive rather than flat.
Accessible design and beautiful design are not in conflict. Bold color, rich contrast, and spaces with real personality can do both jobs at once. That`s the standard we`re designing toward in every project, for every client.

We don`t usually let people in this early. But this one felt worth documenting from the start.
Swansboro Lane is a full renovation in progress: an unfinished third-floor attic, a dining room that couldn`t keep up with how our clients entertain, and a breakfast nook that needed a serious rethink. Design is approved. Construction will begin soon. And we`re documenting everything, the decisions, the pivots, the moments that don`t make it to the final reveal photos.
We`ll be answering questions like: what does a designer actually do? How long does a project like this really take? And what actually happens between hiring a designer and the finished room? And what about general contractors?

This guest bath in a downtown Raleigh condo on Fayetteville Street was a local love letter. Our client loved the downtown Raleigh pillar, James Beard-winning chef Ashley Christensen`s Poole`side Pies, which sadly closed in 2023 and where the bathrooms were famously swimming pool themed. Since the home`s biggest selling point is its downtown location, we wanted to give it a sense of place and a fun story.
We recreated a similar swimming pool aesthetic through cool blue tile and sparkling chrome finishes. We stuck with a pedestal sink for that retro feel and to save space, and switched out a single shelf for a wall cabinet to create more storage opportunity in limited space.
This was a low-light room with no windows. There is a difference between a dark space that feels neglected and a dark space that feels like a decision. The Fayetteville Street guest bath feels like a decision. Sometimes the most beautiful thing you can do with a dark space is let it be dark on purpose.
