We worked with TEW to help us remodel our kitchen, living room, and dining area in our 1960s split level home in Raleigh. Rima and Frances met with us many times throughout the course of our project. They really listened to what we were looking for and incorporated all of our priorities into their design. Throughout the process Rima and her team were organized, communicative, and transparent. All of the contractors and sub-contractors that were chosen by TEW did fantastic work. We encountered a few unexpected structural issues once demo was complete, but TEW walked us through our options and were very clear about how the timeline and budget would be impacted in each scenario. We would highly recommend TEW to anyone looking for help with designing or renovating their home and look forward to working with them again ourselves in the future!

Stephanie created a stunning kitchen design that was truly customized to enhance our real life. She asked great questions —honoring the input in a way that always made us feel understood. They respected our budget and it never impacted the quality of the design. When unexpected twists occurred during construction, the TEW team was eager to help problem solve and approached it as an exciting challenge rather than an inconvenience.
When I stand in my new kitchen, it feels like an expression of my heart. Not only did TEW design a space built for functionality, they created a kitchen that feels like a permanent home.

We hired TEW Design Studio to design new office space for our organization. The process took almost an entire year and thank goodness we hired TEW. They were so helpful in our early conversations with the folks hired by the landlord and advocated for us multiple times.
Our office is perfect and beyond what we ever envisioned! It was important to us that our office space was airy, welcoming, and an embodiment of our mission and values. TEW worked hard to do that for us and the results are wonderful. The furniture is stunning and sturdy. The artwork is amazing. The vendors that Tew used were all so professional and did excellent work.

We worked with Tew to redesign our kitchen, and they were fantastic! They took our very rough vision for what we wanted and needed our kitchen to be for a growing family and turned it into something both visually stunning and wonderfully more functional. The TEW team recently completed a major remodel of our primary bathroom and closet. They were very attentive to our inspiration photos, and blended their own design sense seamlessly with our likes in coming up with a design we couldn’t have imagined on our own. The onset of the pandemic meant a lot of turmoil for office space. We had downsized and shed a lot of furniture, but our work was expanding. We had moved into a new space with new people, and TEW stepped in to help us navigate our office design in a way that brought much needed beauty.
They were such a pleasure to work with I ended up working with them again on my home as we went through a kitchen redesign.

We purchased a home in the area but were not scheduled to move in right away. I didn’t want to move a lot of furniture from the West Coast (our Pasadena bungalow stuff just didn’t fit the mid-century modern of the new house). So I did something I had not done before — hire TEW Design Studio to help me figure out how to furnish the new house and refurbish and refresh some of the features that either didn’t suit our taste or seemed a bit old-fashioned. TEW Design Studio was recommended to us by our realtor, and they handled every aspect of the project beautifully. They always worked with our budget, and they worked to get a sense of our own specific aesthetic.
They gave us many options when it came to key pieces of furniture, and they coordinated those things that we intended to bring with us into their vision of the key spaces of the house (LR, DR, Master BR, Kitchen). Their selections for key pieces of furniture, light fixtures, paint colors, and floor treatments were spectacular. For that reason, on those few occasions when I was a little doubtful of what they proposed, I made the decision to defer to their design judgment (which was the whole point, right?). Not surprisingly, virtually every one of those instances proved they were right.
We are thrilled with the work, which was done on time, on budget, and with very high quality of workmanship. The success of that first project encouraged us to begin a guest bathroom remodel, which is already looking amazing. Every day we wake up in spaces that are beautiful, comfortable, and really functional.Highly recommend them and look forward to partnering with them again!
We had an absolutely wonderful experience with TEW and plan on partnering with them again in the future. They designed a playroom for our two little girls while also making it a fun place for parents to hang out. They took an in-law suite and totally reconfigured it, bringing unique ideas and vision.
Before entering the process, I was admittedly a little hesitant about hiring someone to do this for us, but TEW outperformed in every way. They had unique ideas, sourced great and tasteful furniture and selections, and did an awesome job storing everything and getting it installed. During installation, a table didn’t meet their standards, and they handled getting it refinished and brought it back another day. By partnering with TEW, we got a functional layout, great design and accents, fantastic furniture, and all within our budget.

Rima and her team transformed our salon (Samuel Cole Salon) space in 2018/2019 and we simply could not be happier with the results. We updated the flooring, cabinetry, and lighting. This guest bath in a downtown Raleigh condo on Fayetteville Street was a local love letter. Our client loved the downtown Raleigh pillar, James Beard-winning chef Ashley Christensen`s Poole`side Pies, which sadly closed in 2023 and where the bathrooms were famously swimming pool themed. Since the home`s biggest selling point is its downtown location, we wanted to give it a sense of place and a fun story.
We recreated a similar swimming pool aesthetic through cool blue tile and sparkling chrome finishes. We stuck with a pedestal sink for that retro feel and to save space, and switched out a single shelf for a wall cabinet to create more storage opportunity in limited space.
This was a low-light room with no windows. There is a difference between a dark space that feels neglected and a dark space that feels like a decision. The Fayetteville Street guest bath feels like a decision. Sometimes the most beautiful thing you can do with a dark space is let it be dark on purpose.

Special delivery🎨📦! We are so excited to welcome this stunning piece into our office. We’ve had the pleasure of working with Miami-based artist @marianifineart for years.
Her sculptural pieces are a beautiful exploration of texture, cultural history, and spirituality. The artist, Ana Mariani is deeply inspired by her childhood, growing up in the State of Boliviar, near the Amazon rainforest. In her pieces, through the interspersed use of branches that form irregular structures, she then covers them with colored fabrics to create abstract shapes, erasing the limits between painting and sculpture.
One of our favorite things about most of her pieces is that they are “living art”, so the individual stakes can be rearranged into any configuration, allowing the piece to evolve with the space. If you’re interested in purchasing this piece, send us a DM!

Small spaces are often the biggest missed opportunity in a home! At Dixon Avenue, the bones were wonderful, but the home had started to feel overstuffed and impractical. With kids getting older and clutter accumulating, our clients needed breathing room. Wallpaper, thoughtful storage, and even the removal of things that don’t serve the space completely changed how this home feels. Swipe to see the before pics!

The most effective way to elevate a space without starting over is to identify what’s working, edit what isn’t, and layer in what’s missing. Our clients had pieces they loved. They just weren’t working in their new home yet. We started by identifying the things we could reuse, then sourced things that played well with the existing color pallet. At Bannerman Lane, our clients are a family of four who appreciate color, especially with an established artist as the matriarch. Their space needed direction and cohesion to tie all their rooms together. Two bathrooms and a fireplace later, we`re getting somewhere.
Most renovations without design leadership have a certain feeling to them. Not bad materials or wrong decisions, but disconnection. Each space gets solved in isolation and doesn`t connect as a whole house. That is what a full-service designer is actually for. Not just picking tile, but holding the whole direction at once so that every decision in every space is a part of the same conversation.
