We worked with TEW to help us remodel our kitchen, living room, and dining area in our 1960s split level home in Raleigh. Rima and Frances met with us many times throughout the course of our project. They really listened to what we were looking for and incorporated all of our priorities into their design. Throughout the process Rima and her team were organized, communicative, and transparent. All of the contractors and sub-contractors that were chosen by TEW did fantastic work. We encountered a few unexpected structural issues once demo was complete, but TEW walked us through our options and were very clear about how the timeline and budget would be impacted in each scenario. We would highly recommend TEW to anyone looking for help with designing or renovating their home and look forward to working with them again ourselves in the future!

Stephanie created a stunning kitchen design that was truly customized to enhance our real life. She asked great questions —honoring the input in a way that always made us feel understood. They respected our budget and it never impacted the quality of the design. When unexpected twists occurred during construction, the TEW team was eager to help problem solve and approached it as an exciting challenge rather than an inconvenience.
When I stand in my new kitchen, it feels like an expression of my heart. Not only did TEW design a space built for functionality, they created a kitchen that feels like a permanent home.

We hired TEW Design Studio to design new office space for our organization. The process took almost an entire year and thank goodness we hired TEW. They were so helpful in our early conversations with the folks hired by the landlord and advocated for us multiple times.
Our office is perfect and beyond what we ever envisioned! It was important to us that our office space was airy, welcoming, and an embodiment of our mission and values. TEW worked hard to do that for us and the results are wonderful. The furniture is stunning and sturdy. The artwork is amazing. The vendors that Tew used were all so professional and did excellent work.

We worked with Tew to redesign our kitchen, and they were fantastic! They took our very rough vision for what we wanted and needed our kitchen to be for a growing family and turned it into something both visually stunning and wonderfully more functional. They were a pleasure to work with from the design phase, through helping us find a contractor, on to putting in the final touches once all the building and installing was completed.

The TEW team recently completed a major remodel of our primary bathroom and closet. They were very attentive to our inspiration photos, and blended their own design sense seamlessly with our likes in coming up with a design we couldn’t have imagined on our own. They coordinated with their network of contractors so we had peace of mind in who came in and out of our home during the course of the project.

The onset of the pandemic meant a lot of turmoil for office space. We had downsized and shed a lot of furniture, but our work was expanding. We had moved into a new space with new people, and TEW stepped in to help us navigate our office design in a way that brought much needed beauty.
They were such a pleasure to work with I ended up working with them again on my home as we went through a kitchen redesign.

We purchased a home in the area but were not scheduled to move in right away. I didn’t want to move a lot of furniture from the West Coast (our Pasadena bungalow stuff just didn’t fit the mid-century modern of the new house). So I did something I had not done before — hire TEW Design Studio to help me figure out how to furnish the new house and refurbish and refresh some of the features that either didn’t suit our taste or seemed a bit old-fashioned. TEW Design Studio was recommended to us by our realtor, and they handled every aspect of the project beautifully. They always worked with our budget, and they worked to get a sense of our own specific aesthetic.
They gave us many options when it came to key pieces of furniture, and they coordinated those things that we intended to bring with us into their vision of the key spaces of the house (LR, DR, Master BR, Kitchen). Their selections for key pieces of furniture, light fixtures, paint colors, and floor treatments were spectacular. For that reason, on those few occasions when I was a little doubtful of what they proposed, I made the decision to defer to their design judgment (which was the whole point, right?). Not surprisingly, virtually every one of those instances proved they were right.
We are thrilled with the work, which was done on time, on budget, and with very high quality of workmanship. The success of that first project encouraged us to begin a guest bathroom remodel, which is already looking amazing. Every day we wake up in spaces that are beautiful, comfortable, and really functional.Highly recommend them and look forward to partnering with them again!
We had an absolutely wonderful experience with TEW and plan on partnering with them again in the future. They designed a playroom for our two little girls while also making it a fun place for parents to hang out. They took an in-law suite and totally reconfigured it, bringing unique ideas and vision.
Before entering the process, I was admittedly a little hesitant about hiring someone to do this for us, but TEW outperformed in every way. They had unique ideas, sourced great and tasteful furniture and selections, and did an awesome job storing everything and getting it installed. During installation, a table didn’t meet their standards, and they handled getting it refinished and brought it back another day. By partnering with TEW, we got a functional layout, great design and accents, fantastic furniture, and all within our budget.

Rima and her team transformed our salon (Samuel Cole Salon) space in 2018/2019 and we simply could not be happier with the results. We updated the flooring, cabinetry, and lighting. I`ve been designing spaces for a long time and talking about myself on the internet for significantly less time. Bear with me.
Hi, I`m Rima. Founder and principal designer of TEW Design Studio, and yes, it means "To Elevate Within" because I believe spaces should do something for your soul, not just your resale value.
A little bit about me, I`m Palestinian. My family immigrated to the US when I was 15, carrying very little but somehow managing to bring an entire aesthetic sensibility with us. An aesthetic that knows how to hold memory. The weight of hand-loomed textiles, the cool of stone underfoot, the way light moves slowly through a carved threshold. These aren`t decorative references for me. They`re the first design language I ever learned, and it turned out to be the best design education I never paid for.
Then I paid for it. Undergraduate in Arts & Culture from George Mason University, master`s degree in Interior Design from the Florence Design Academy in Italy, because apparently one continent wasn`t enough to make my point.
Here`s the thing about being Palestinian, an immigrant, and an interior designer: I have never once struggled to have a perspective. When your sense of home is something you carry rather than something you`re handed, you learn what actually matters in a space. I grew up between cultures, between continents, between aesthetics, and that in-between place taught me how to find what`s timeless in any tradition and make it feel completely personal to someone else`s life. That`s what I bring to every project.
What I do now: I lead a full-service interior design studio in Raleigh where every decision is intentional, personal, and built to last. Not trend-chasing. Not fast. Not cheap. I work with people who want their homes to actually mean something.
When I`m not designing, I`m in my garden, hiking, painting, traveling, or playground hopping with my husband, our boys, and our dog Carl, who has no design opinions but excellent energy.

Unpopular opinion, but… Humans are wired for color. It affects mood, energy, creativity, even how safe and inspired we feel in a space. Color gives our brain something to respond to. It tells a story. It sparks emotion. It makes a home feel lived in not staged.
