This kitchen is definitely a show stopper. Featuring two islands a built-in dining bench and a breakfast nook, this space became more open and functional for this family of six.

Needing some extra seating in your living room? Placing two sofas facing each other can create a great space for entertaining family and friends (while still social distancing).

These two beautiful velvet tufted sofas gives this space a symmetrical look and pops against the black statement wall color.

Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. not just today, but everyday.

We reflect on his powerful words and we must continue to use our voice to fight for what is right and what matters. Yes it will take a lot of intention and yes it will take a lot of effort, but we must not be silent in a world that desperately needs change. As MLK said “you don’t have to see the whole staircase, just to take the first step”.

TEW will be closed today as we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. 🤎

Sacred Transformations!⠀
⠀
This project shows how thoughtful design elements do make a big difference.⠀
⠀
We had the amazing opportunity to elevate a very special and sacred place in our clients home. The cabinetry was customized with features specific to the room and it’s height accommodates the importance of interacting with spiritual icons upon kneeling to pray. Indirect LED lighting adds a soft glow to textured wallpaper, which has been framed to integrate with the cabinet base. ⠀
⠀
The double glass door entrance is the cherry on top, giving the room a privacy as well as a special and formal appearance.⠀
⠀
Swipe to see how this project came to life just in time for the Hindu celebration, Navaratri! Link to the full transformation in our Bio.⠀

Feeling Blue?⠀
⠀
As a gathering space in a home, the kitchen should feel bright and inviting. This shade of blue adds a calming vibe, without feeling gloomy. The white countertops and backsplash are a great contrast and brighten up what was once a dark kitchen.⠀
⠀
This kitchen is another example of having good bones but needing a refresh. We repainted the existing cabinetry, replaced countertops, added a gorgeous marble backsplash, and updated the lighting. ⠀

This past week has been mentally exhausting. I've typed so many posts and deleted them, just not knowing how to address the hurt we're feeling. As many of you know, we are a team of diverse women from different backgrounds and have faced different adversities in our lifetimes. As much as we'd like to focus on beautiful interiors, studying new innovations in design, and serving our clients, it's hard to ignore the news. I've seen so many people post about how they choose to ignore the news and shut their TVs off, and I hope that they recognize the privilege in that.

I was talking to my mom after the incident at the Capitol and we couldn't help but be reminded of many double standards we faced as an Arab family post 9/11, just for being Arab. My little brother was placed on the no-fly list because his name was too similar to a wanted person, yet we had no clue. He was then held in an interrogation room at the airport for hours, just because of his name. My brother was 8 years old when this happened to him. Eight. Years. Old.

I've seen people say that they will not be discussing the hateful events of January 6th with their children. And I have to say, I envy that so much. How lucky are they to have that choice. I will always have to explain hate to my Palestinian-American son. Always. There's no choice for us.

I'm not sure what I'm trying to say here, but.. please don't ignore what we've so obviously been seeing recently, over the past 5 years, and over decades. Please don't be silent. Use your privilege to call it out for what it is. As mentally exhausting as it is, it's still the reality for many of us. A reality we've had to deal with our entire lives. And we need you now to see it and deal with it as well.

With hope and love, always.

Shake it Up!⠀
⠀
Sometimes our dreams of doing a big kitchen renovation is not always in the cards. Painting your cabinets could give you that fresh update you are looking for and improve the overall feel of your space. It’s a cost saving as well as good for our environment, providing that the cabinetry is in good shape.⠀
⠀
However, if your cabinets are too old, grimy, or have storage or layout issues, we recommend replacing them with new ones. ⠀
⠀
In this Cary home, our clients were satisfied with the kitchen layout but desired an elevated look, and replaced the island with new cabinetry that worked better for their family.⠀
⠀

Chair Crush!⠀
⠀
A room always needs a statement, and an accent chair certainly fits the role. Using accent chairs can fill empty corners, creates conversation areas, or make an intimate setting. This can also introduce other forms, textures, and colors if your space needs a little push. ⠀
⠀
For us, we’d like to take a seat on this beautiful yellow chair and reflect on our 2021 goals 😉
