Interior Design for a Good Cause: The Green Chair Project — Charity Event

In the heart of Raleigh, a remarkable event is set to blend creativity, community, and charity in a unique way. The Green Chair Project — Charity Event, scheduled for September 19th, promises an inspiring showcase of design talent and generosity. As part of this year’s event, our TEWcrew had the pleasure of designing a grownup game room that will be featured alongside the work of 10 other local talented interior designers. A Vision of Giving Back

The Green Chair Project is more than just a design event; it’s a heartfelt initiative aimed at helping families coming out of crisis or trauma furnish their homes in the Triangle area. Through the proceeds from this charity event, the organization provides essential gently used or new furnishings to families in need, turning houses into homes and creating a positive impact in our community.

a Cause Close to home

Our team felt compelled to join this fantastic event after being introduced to The Green Chair team by a colleague, and learning about the positive influence they have on our community. With our founder, Rima Nasser, being an immigrant who has experienced the challenges faced by families seeking a fresh start after being relocated or displaced, this cause resonated deeply with us. The assistance provided can be life-changing for families starting anew after experiencing crisis or trauma.

Designing for a Difference

This year’s event features 11 designers, each tasked with designing a unique space of their choosing, using donated furniture and gently used items. Our team is excited to be among these designers, contributing our vision and creativity to this mission. For this event we designed a grownup game room that displays some of our favorite books and games in a quaint and cozy setting alongside the fireplace. Each room designed reflects the individual style of the designer while showcasing how thoughtfully chosen furnishings can transform a space.

An Auction of Artistry

Adding to the event’s allure is the auction of designer chairs, where attendees can bid on unique pieces included in the designed rooms. The rooms designed are both functional and works of art, each reflecting the unique touch of its creator. It’s a chance to acquire a standout piece while supporting a worthy cause.

How to Participate

All items displayed in every designer room will be for sale for the general public with the proceeds going to The Green Chair Project goal to serve an average of 25 families a week. The shopping events are ticketed. Tickets for The Green Chair Project – Charity Event are available for purchase directly from Green Chair for September 19th, 1 pm – 5 pm. However, our team has 25 tickets for earlier access than the general public for September 19th, 9 am – 12 pm. For those who use our designer’s link, receive a 25% discount on their tickets, giving you exclusive, first hand, access to designer curated items, refurbished pieces, original art, while contributing to this impactful cause.
