Illicium Court: Timeless Cary Home Interior Update

For this Cary, N.C. home interior, clients reached out to us to design four spaces with new furnishings, art, and accessories. We established a vision for their home that creates a lived-in, timeless look by balancing colorful accents and textures.

Design Highlights

• An Intentional Green Entry – Rather than repainting every room, the existing green foyer walls were embraced and extended. Doors and trim were painted the same shade to create a sophisticated, cohesive first impression that carries up the staircase and into the great room
• A Moody, Layered Dining Room – Existing traditional furniture was reworked alongside new pieces for a softer, more livable feel. A textured wallpaper adds subtle movement, while a navy trim and ceiling, including a reimagined ceiling medallion bring drama and depth
• A Fireplace-Anchored Home Office – A once-plain, beige study was transformed with a custom fireplace and surrounding built-ins, plus ceiling wallpaper and an oversized light fixture to draw the eye up. Wood French doors added privacy while still letting light flow through.
• A Dramatic Powder Room Refresh- Wallpaper and grounding dark geometric tile gave this small space an outsized personal impact, finished with statement wall sconces and a striking sink.
• Personal Touches Throughout – Existing artwork and cherished furnishings were woven into each space, ensuring the update felt lived-in and true to the family rather than like a showroom.
