TEW Design Studio is a boutique, full-service interior design firm that helps clients to form distinctive, yet livable spaces featuring high quality materials and intricate details. Founded by Rima Nasser on the principle that design should be fun, exciting and daring, we create uplifting spaces that are visually inspiring and easy to live and work in.
Rima founded TEW on the principle that design should be fun, exciting and daring. She earned her undergraduate degree in Arts & Culture from George Mason University and graduated with a master’s in Interior Design from the Florence Design Academy in Italy.
She leads our team with a unique cultural insight from her experiences both domestically and abroad. As a Palestinian, Rima’s family moved to the U.S. when she was 15 and settled in Richmond. She grew up enjoying architecture from around the world. From an early age, simple, earthy design caught her eye, as did the use of greenery and Moroccan influences with bold colors and patterns. Rima lives in Cary with her husband Andy and two dogs, Jupiter and Carl.
Frances grew up in Puerto Rico where she found inspiration through nature, dancing and her culture’s vibrant colors. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Marketing and associate’s in Interior Design from the University of Puerto Rico. She began her career in North Carolina designing nurseries.
The first thing Frances remembers designing was her bedroom. Her love for color went a little overboard as a teen upon painting her walls a rich turquoise with pink accents. Frances still beams with pride at her original happy place! She has a strong connection with animals as a beloved mommy to three canines and serves as a dog sitter in her free time.
Janae’s creative career began in 6th grade upon enrolling in her first interior design class where she made a room out of foam board and fabric. From that point forward, everywhere Janae goes, design matters. She’s passionate about the power of color, pattern and structure to shift moods and change our lives for the better.
In her free time, Janae stays busy with a crazy fun crafting hobby. Here in the office, she’s our technical design assistant on projects such as Asali Desserts & Café. With its acrylic chairs and pink and green velvet sofas, the café definitely embodies her vibe. Janae’s a native of Warrenton, N.C., and graduate of UNC-Greensboro with a Fine Arts degree in Interior Architecture.
Stephanie grew up in Florida with fond memories of its many pastel colored homes. She has always believed that our home should be our happy place. Stephanie obtained her interior design degree at Harrington College of Design in Chicago and has several years of experience focused on kitchen and bath design. She is certified through the National Kitchen & Bath Assoc., and loves to help with the more technical aspects of design. She is responsible for fulfillment of the logistics that keep our clients’ projects running smoothly.
In her free time, she loves to go antiquing, attempt exasperating craft projects and spend time with her husband and their dog, Flapjack. She’s also on the lookout for the best Pho in the Triangle.
