N.C. Housing Coalition office interiors in Durham
Our goal for this project was to highlight the N.C. Housing Coalition’s mission through design, creating a welcoming feel for this nonprofit organization’s office space. The end result is interior design that inspires staff and embodies the organization’s values.
Office interiors designed with a purpose
The N.C. Housing Coalition leads the movement to ensure that every North Carolinian has a home in which to live with dignity and opportunity. The Coalition fosters this mission by mobilizing resources and public policies to address the supply and quality of affordable housing in North Carolina. An organization of this stature deserves a headquarters space that is as welcoming and transformative as they are.
To elevate their office space, we brought in natural materials such as an array of plants, textures and wood to warm the space. At the forefront of the design is a custom conference table with flexibility to transition as the team requires.
We worked with our local craftsman partner to build this oversized conference table using eco-friendly bamboo. The table is built on locking casters, to allow it to split into two sections, making it a very versatile piece that can transform into two tables for 6-8 workers each or one long one for a group of 16-18, as needed. This idea brought an eclectic twist to this industrial space.
Building brand by elevating THE space
Using different materials like faux leather, velvet and metals in combination with houseplants, creates a homey feel, rather than an overtly corporate office feel. Staff and clientele who visit this space experience a more welcoming space that incorporates their brand in a more sophisticated way.
This project began mid-year in 2021 and was completed in 2022. It demonstrates how commercial space does not need to feel overly corporate and can be personalized to embody the humans who occupy it.
We’re here to listen to your interior design needs
Our team had a great year working with numerous nonprofit organizations that make a big impact in our community. Take a look at our work for Laughing Gull Foundation in Durham, also from 2022.
