Introducing TEWlines: Where Heritage Meets Sustainable Design
Available in early 2025! TEWlines, the new locally crafted sustainable furniture collection from TEW Design Studio, is more than a product line – it’s a deeply personal journey rooted in Palestinian heritage, sustainability, and a passion for thoughtful design. Inspired by her ancestry and commitment to slow design, founder Rima Nasser created TEWlines as a tribute to her heritage and a step toward a carbon-conscious future.
The journey began in January 2023, when Rima discovered Hempwood, a U.S.-made, carbon-negative material originally used in flooring. Its sustainability and distinctive texture-inspired custom-designed furniture pieces that blend seamlessly into our studio’s full-service interior design projects. Each piece is locally crafted to reflect nature, resilience, and timeless design principles.
Rima’s connection to furniture design deepened when she discovered her great-grandfather’s legacy as an importer of cane, jute, and straw for furniture and rug making – a legacy stolen during the Nakba of 1948. This discovery transformed TEWlines into more than a collection – it became a tribute to her family and cultural preservation. Every piece tells a story, honoring the past while building a sustainable future. Every standard stain and color is drawn from indigenous practices that honor the land, the sea, and the stewardship of nature.
TEWlines is not just furniture; it’s a movement toward a meaningful, lasting design. We invite everyone to join us on this journey to create thoughtful, sustainable spaces that celebrate tradition and innovation.
Standard Stains
Customization includes a choice of our standard hempwood stains; however, further customization is available if discussed with our design team.
Standard Paints
Customization includes up to two choices from our standard paint selection, however, further customization is available if discussed with our design team.
TEWlines A//C Collection
The A//C collection includes a floating nightstand, side tables, a 5-drawer chest, and a 6-drawer dresser. All drawer options are available for a ‘push-to-open’ drawer upgrade.
TEWlines W//N Collection
The W//N collection includes a bar-height console table and a writing desk. Mix up the design with disc paint variations to create your perfect piece. Customization also includes your choice of one of our four standard hempwood stains.
TEWline F//P Collection
The F//P collection includes a coffee table that is customizable with one of our four standard stains and any of our four standard paints for the dowels and legs.

“My inspiration behind TEWlines is rooted in my heritage and collective memory of indigenous traditions.

It is a step towards our future that is carbon-conscious, locally sourced, and crafted with the utmost quality.
TEWlines journey started in January of 2023, when I came across a US-made, carbon-negative material primarily used for flooring, named Hempwood. Its unique appearance and sustainable properties inspired me to incorporate custom-designed pieces for some of our clients, allowing us to blend our full-service interior design work with this exciting new material.
For the past couple of years, I have been developing unique collections that emphasize nature and sustainability.
After recently learning that my great-grandfather was a furniture maker, my connections to design deepened, which transformed TEWlines into a tribute to my heritage. Each piece now reflects sustainability and resilience.
